Mariebergsskogen AB – Karlstad's city park is owned by Karlstad municipality and is Värmland's largest tourist attraction. Our work varies by season and in the summer we have around 80 employees. We manage facilities, playgrounds, café sales and green areas, Naturum Värmland, the Lillskogen zoo, and several large events in the park.

Description

In Mariebergsskogen, there are large green areas with beautiful plantings and various garden environments with different purposes and designs. Among them is the Play Garden, which focuses on Värmland's history, culture, and nature. There are themes related to music, literature, and art that invite visitors to engage their senses. The Children's Flourishing Kitchen Garden is a garden where our common kitchen plants are displayed, both contemporary and historical. The Children's Kitchen Garden serves an educational purpose where the harvest is used in activities with preschools or in the café at Naturum Värmland.

Responsibilities

As a gardener, you will work together in a team to maintain and manage the park's green areas and plantings. You will be involved in sowing, planting, harvesting, pruning, and mowing. The position also includes some educational activities, as we host groups of children who visit us in the Children's Kitchen Garden.

The position is full-time from April 13 to October 13, 2026.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a trained gardener or has equivalent education. We expect you to be service-oriented with good teamwork skills and not shy away from hard work when necessary. Furthermore, we see that you have previous experience working in a public park, as well as familiarity with machinery and knowledge of plant protection. In the role of gardener, you need to master the Swedish language in both speech and writing. It is also an advantage if you have other language skills, various machine licenses, and previous educational experience.

You must have a B driver's license.
